Open iOS Settings, choose WXDesk, then Location, and allow access while using the app. Use the update button in WXDesk Settings afterward. Always Location is optional and is only needed when you want background alert checks to follow significant travel.
Confirm notifications are enabled in both WXDesk Settings and iOS Settings. Saved-city warnings must be enabled separately for each favorite. Background checks are scheduled by iOS and may be delayed, so WXDesk should supplement rather than replace official alerts.
Open WXDesk, allow the primary location forecast to load, and return to the Home Screen. The widget reads the latest snapshot shared by the app and refreshes on Apple’s WidgetKit schedule.
WXDesk combines Apple Weather, Open-Meteo, NOAA/NWS, AviationWeather.gov, SPC, and RainViewer. Individual sections can be unavailable during provider maintenance or poor connectivity without preventing the rest of the app from opening. Pull to refresh or try again later.
Do not use WXDesk as the sole source for life-safety, flight, or storm-spotting decisions. Consult official NWS warnings, FAA-approved aviation products, and local emergency guidance.
